Welcome to The Old Net Store Avoch, until a few years ago this was the net store
for two brothers who used the harbour as a base for their fishing boat. It is a beautifully
renovated the property overlooking the harbour at Avoch. The living room on the upper
floor, which was the old net loft, used for drying nets has a view across the Moray
Firth as do all 3 of the bedrooms. The house sleeps up to 8 in the 3 bedrooms and
dolphin cabin, there is also a sofa bed if needed

at Avoch, has private parking and is in a great position to visit all the attractions
of the Inverness, Loch Ness and Black Isle area. Handy for golf, walking, birdwatching,
sailing, cycling, touring, dolphin watching and great for relaxing.
The lounge on
the upper floor is in 3 areas with a cosy area by the wood burning stove, a great
central section to gaze out of the french doors across the Moray Firth and the relaxing
sofas at the far end where the tv is.
The kitchen is huge and the table will sit
10 easily. The cooker has 7 rings so there is plenty of space to cook for all the
The house sits looking straight into the harbour. You need go no further to watch
a wealth of wildlife. From any window you might see, otters, heron, curlew, mallard
or swans, just a few of the creatures to frequent the harbour. The best seat is by
the French doors upstairs where you can sit with a cup of coffee and gaze out across
the Moray Firth. You will see gulls, terns, ganets, red kite but if you are very
lucky you may even see the local osprey.
Inverness is just 15 minutes drive meaning all the facilities of a big town are close
at hand. Most of the Scottish Highlands are less than 2 hours away, no matter which
direction you go.
2 hours north and you will be a John O Groats
2 hours west will take you to Fort William, having driven down Loch Ness for a bit
of Nessie spotting
2 hours west takes you to Ullapool and on to Achiltibuie or Handa
2 hours west would take you to Skye via Kyle of Lochalsh
2 hours south takes you to the Cairngorms. Aviemore is only an hour away
2 Hours east would take you to Deeside and Balmoral
A fabulous base for anyone wanting to tour but just as amazing for those who want
to stay local. There is no need to leave the Black Isle for an action packed week.
Try dolphin watching, sailing, kayaking, walking, cycling, mountain biking, bird
watching, quadbiking, horse riding. Visiting Fortrose, with it’s ruined abbey or
Cromarty with it’s preserved village. Take the 2 car ferry to Nigg and come back
along the Cromarty Firth.
There is plenty here fpr all the family, come rain or shine, but of course the Moray
Firth is famous for it’s weather and get more sunny days than most of Scotland. If you want to experience
